‘Idol’ Contestant Francisco Martin Delivers Stunning EP After Getting Candid About Depression

Francisco Martin‘s debut EP Beautiful Ramblings of a Restless Mind is finally out and is everything fans could’ve ever imagined it would be. The Season 18 American Idol alum teamed up with fellow contestant Julia Gargano for their masterful duet “Swollen,” which is among six incredible tracks.
‘American Idol’ Alum Francisco Martin Releases New EP
Francisco and Julia were both standout contestants on American Idol last season. He made it all the way to the finale after overcoming his nerves throughout the competition and delivering some of the most memorable performances of the entire season. Julia proved she is an extraordinary songwriter after auditioning with her original song “Growing Pains.”
Francisco returned in Season 19 to accompany his brother Kiko to his American Idol audition. The judges were delighted to see him and marveled at all of his success since competing on the show.
Now with “Swollen” featured on Beautiful Ramblings of a Restless Mind, we’ve gotten to see a whole new romantic side of these contestants. This duo has perfect vocals that compliment each other so well. The music video explores a relationship and going through losing someone and it’s all too relatable.
Other notable tracks on the EP include “Let You Go.” The beat behind this song is incredible and we can aboslutely imagine it being played on the radio this summer.
His song “Wild Girl” is also a major highlight of the EP that we can’t stop listening to. Again, Francisco is absolutely killing it with these whimsical music videos.
He Previously Opened Up to Fans About Battling Depression
One thing fans and the American Idol judges love about Francisco is how down-to-earth he is. He treats his fans like they are close friends. Francisco is always very open and candid about what is going on in his life post-American Idol.
“My life is not all sunshine and rainbows,” he wrote on Instagram in April. “I’ve been going through a lot of emotional turmoil these last few months and have been struggling with anxiety and depression. I want to let you guys know that you aren’t alone.”
His American Idol Season 18 castmates Franklin Boone and Margie Mays left comments on the post to tell him that they appreciate him opening up and that he is not alone.
“I’m working on myself every day and also trying to be the best artist I can be for myself and for you,” he continued. “At times it gets to my head and I start to crumble inside. But recently I’ve been starting to try new healthy ways to cope and to become a better person.”
Francisco’s EP Beautiful Ramblings of a Restless Mind is available on all streaming platforms. Julia also just released a new music video for her song “Strangers.”
