American Idol Season 23 is speeding through the competition, as another episode aired on Monday night, with the theme “Iconic Idol Moments.” The Top 12 contestants channeled moments from past seasons of the show, with Season 3 winner Fantasia as a mentor. At the end of the night, the Top 10 was revealed as two singers were eliminated.
Who Made It Into the American Idol Top 10?
On Sunday night, the Top 12 was determined. Those singers returned to the stage on Monday, performing for their shot at making the Top 10. That meant that two contestants had to go home at the end of the night.
A standout performance from the episode came from Jamal Roberts, who sang “Heal” by Tom Odell. Jamal fully captivated the audience, as a hush fell over the crowd before they applauded. The judges gave the emotional performance a standing ovation, with Lionel Richie calling it “divine.”
Another notable performance from Monday’s show came from Gabby Samone, who performed “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway. Carrie Underwood called the soulful performance “absolute perfection.” Luke Bryan praised her for holding the room with her voice.
Both Jamal Roberts and Gabby Samone made it into the Top 10 thanks to America’s vote, along with Platinum Ticket winners Kolbi Jordan and Canaan James Hill, as well as Slater Nalley, Thunderstorm Artis, Mattie Pruitt, Josh King, Breanna Nix, and John Foster.

Who Was Eliminated from the Show?
Sadly, we had to say goodbye to two more contestants during Monday’s new episode. Voting was open during the show, and host Ryan Seacrest shared the results at the end of the night. One of the singers who didn’t make it into the Top 10 was Filo, who earned a Platinum Ticket in his audition.
For his performance in the Top 12, Filo performed “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls. The judges were impressed, with Bryan and Richie telling him that it was their favorite performance from him this season. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep him in the competition.
Also eliminated at the end of Monday’s show was Ché, who sang “Dancing on My Own” by Robyn. Underwood said he made the song his own. Bryan said he could tell that Ché had “turned the intensity up” since the judges saved him earlier this season. Unfortunately, he won’t be competing in the Top 10.
