Kelly Clarkson has returned to hosting her talk show after an unexplained absence earlier this year. Recently, the host’s on-air fashion choices have made headlines, as Clarkson opts for more casual looks featuring jeans.
Kelly Clarkson Dresses Casually as She Returns to Talk Show
In March, Clarkson was absent from her eponymous talk show several times, with various celebrity guest hosts filling in for her. She eventually returned to regular hosting, without sharing an explanation for her absence. Sources told TMZ that Clarkson was dealing with a “personal matter.”
The Daily Mail has taken note of the fact that Clarkson appears to be opting for more casual outfits in recent episodes of her show. The singer has been wearing a lot of jeans paired with various tops. The outlet highlighted several looks, including one featuring a Nirvana T-shirt and fitted jeans.
In another episode, Clarkson could be seen wearing flared jeans with a blue and white zip-up windbreaker. Although The Daily Mail contrasts these looks with her previous affinity for dresses and skirts, Clarkson hasn’t gone completely casual these days.
Recent videos on The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s YouTube channel show the host wearing a long pleated skirt, a white mini skirt and knee-high boots, and even a long bejeweled dress for her recent Kellyoke performance of “Anything for You” by Gloria Estefan.

Clarkson Teases New Single ‘Where Have You Been’
It looks like Kelly Clarkson fans can look forward to new music from the singer. Clarkson recently posted an image on Instagram teasing a new song called “Where Have You Been.” The cover art features a close-up photo of the singer in a sparkly top.
“Soon…” Clarkson wrote in the post’s caption. Then on Wednesday, the singer posted a quick clip featuring a similar sparkly fabric, teasing a little bit of the song. She sings, “I like my freedom, but I’d trade some for a kiss.”
Clarkson has yet to share a release date for the new track, but it looks like fans can expect it very soon. The American Idol winner announced in January that she started her own record label and would be releasing music independently.
