Lucky Duck Unmasks in ‘The Masked Singer’ Semifinals, Shocks Rita Ora

The Masked Singer Season 13 returned on Wednesday night for the Semifinals, as the remaining four contestants went up against each other in “Head-to-Head Battles.” They were all declared safe at the end of the night, but Lucky Duck was unmasked as panelist Rita Ora’s husband Taika Waititi.
The Masked Singer Returns for the Semifinals
During Wednesday’s new episode of The Masked Singer, the remaining four contestants were paired up to compete against each other. Boogie Woogie went up against Pearl, while Coral went up against Mad Scientist Monster. The contestants who lost each Battle then went up against each other in a Smackdown.
Pearl was chosen as the first Battle winner, for their performance of “You Don’t Own Me” by Lesley Gore, versus Boogie Woogie’s performance of “Maps” by Maroon 5. Later, Mad Scientist Monster’s cover of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey won against Coral’s performance of “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish.
Pearl and Mad Scientist Monster were sent straight into the Finals. For the Smackdown, Coral and Boogie Woogie competed against each other for the final spot. Coral performed “Suddenly I See” by KT Tunstall, while Boogie Woogie sang “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” by Jet.
The good news is that both Coral and Boogie Woogie were declared safe at the end of the night, as this season’s new character Lucky Duck announced that he would be unmasking instead. That means that next week’s finale will feature all four Semifinalists.

Lucky Duck Unmasked as Taika Waititi
Before unmasking, Lucky Duck shared some clues about himself. He revealed that he spends “most of my time on massive movie sets,” adding, “There’s not an Oscar I don’t know.” Other clues included a photo of panelist Rita Ora, as well as vampire fangs. He entered the stage for his unmasking with a dance number.
Lucky Duck didn’t give the panelists a chance to guess who he was before revealing his identity. Imagine Ora’s shock when she realized it was her husband, Oscar-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi. This is similar to the Season 5 reveal that Cluedle-Doo was panelist Jenny McCarthy’s husband, Donnie Wahlberg.
Ora ran onto the stage to give Waititi a kiss, admitting that she thought he was “the most annoying thing on this whole show.” She added that he’s “always wanted to be a pop star,” so appearing on the show was his “dream come true.”
“The main reason I wanted to do this is because it’s the only way I was gonna get to see my wife. You guys got her working so hard, I never see her,” Waititi joked. “How I kept the secret? She’s always here, so it was easy.”
