‘American Idol’s HunterGirl Teases New Song
“Hey, guys! I just wrote a new song about my hometown,” HunterGirl shared at the start of her new Instagram video. “I just want to tell everybody thank you so much for all the love and support.”
The singer, who was seated in her car, then turned the song on for fans to hear as she sang along. According to the post’s caption, HunterGirl wrote “Hometown Out of Me” with Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz. She thanked her hometown area “for supporting me throughout my music journey so far.”
“I’m never gonna not think Heaven’s at the end of Daddy’s little gravel road / I’m never gonna not be the same old same me everybody back there knows,” HunterGirl sings on the song. “An apple’s still an apple when it’s nowhere near the tree / You can take me out of my hometown / But you can’t take my hometown out of me.”

The Singer Has Already Released Music
At this time, HunterGirl has not revealed an anticipated release date for this hometown tune. We’re definitely excited to hear more of HunterGirl’s new song, but until then, the singer has plenty of original music available to hear right now. As part of her American Idol journey, she released a single called “Red Bird.” She also has an EP out.
The five-song project, called One Day, includes the song “Heartbreak Down,” which she performed on the show last season. Other tracks are “Better Than Mine” and “Houdini.” The EP was a success on the iTunes charts.
HunterGirl also has another single from 2018 called “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore.” Hopefully we’ll be able to hear more from her very soon. Maybe she and Season 20 winner Noah Thompson will even get around to recording a duet.
