Carrie Underwood Among ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ Performers

Performs have been announced for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC, and they include new American Idol judge Carrie Underwood. The show will once again be hosted by Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest alongside co-host Rita Ora.
Carrie Underwood to Perform at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve
According to Deadline, Underwood will take the stage to perform in Times Square shortly before the ball drops at midnight to ring in 2025. This is reportedly the country singer’s third time performing on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
“I have such fun memories of performing on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square in both 2007 and 2015, and I’m so excited to perform just before the ball drops again this year,” Underwood said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to celebrate 20 years since winning American Idol by joining Ryan as he hosts his 20th New Year’s Eve in Times Square.”
Other performers who have been announced for the annual event include Megan Moroney, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lenny Kravitz, Teddy Swims, Tinashe, Cody Johnson, and Thomas Rhett. The show kicks off December 31 at 8/7c on ABC.

Ryan Seacrest Is Hosting Once Again
This will be Seacrest’s 20th year hosting the New Year’s celebration, which was previously emceed by Dick Clark. While Rita Ora will join him to co-host in Times Square, Dayanara Torres will once again be co-hosting in Puerto Rico.
Seacrest will also be returning to American Idol next year for his 23rd season as the show’s host. Underwood will also be joining the show as a new judge. If in case you missed it, she is taking the spot formerly occupied by longtime judge Katy Perry. The new season kicks off March 9 on ABC.
