‘American Idol’ Season 23 Judges Hand Out Platinum Ticket at NFL Game

American Idol Season 23 premieres next year, but fans got a sneak peek of the new competition over the weekend at an NFL game. The show’s cast (including new judge Carrie Underwood) presented a contestant with a Platinum Ticket during a Tennessee Titans game.
American Idol Judges Present Platinum Ticket at NFL Game
American Idol teased the Platinum Ticket moment on Instagram, sharing a video of judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan (along with host Ryan Seacrest) dressed in Titans gear and chanting, “Titan up!”
Fans at the game, which was against the New England Patriots, captured the moment when a Season 23 contestant earned the Platinum Ticket. In a video posted on Facebook, the judges can be seen on the field, as Underwood tells the crowd that “an incredible singer” is about to perform.
The singer proceeds to belt out a few lines of “Lady Marmalade” for the crowd, who applauds the performance. The singer’s name hasn’t been confirmed, but Heavy speculates that it might be Coby — according to a comment made by Seacrest.
In the video, Seacrest can be heard telling the singer that the judges wanted to give her a “Golden Ticket upgrade.” He then presents her with a Platinum Ticket, which in seasons past has allowed contestants to skip part of Hollywood Week.

The Show Is Filming in Nashville
In addition to attending the Titans game, the American Idol judges have been filming part of the new season around Nashville. Photos and videos were posted of the cast driving around the city in a blue Ford Mustang convertible.
They also apparently hung out at Bryan’s Nashville bar, Luke’s 32 Bridge. Heavy points out that the Mustang might be Underwood’s prize for winning American Idol back in Season 4. The singer stated in a 2023 interview that she still owned the car.
A premiere date has not yet been announced for the new season of American Idol, but recent seasons have premiered on ABC in February.
