Tyra Banks is returning to Dancing With the Stars… with a co host! DWTS champion Alfonso Ribeiro is returning to the ballroom this season to host alongside banks. Fans are excited to see Ribeiro’s return to the ballroom.
On July 14, Good Morning America announced the hosts of the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. Many were surprised to hear that Tyra Banks would return to the ballroom after her rumored departure. Nonetheless, fans are thrilled to see a familiar face join the cast alongside the host. Alfonso Ribeiro, known for his role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has already commented on his new role. Soon after the announcement.
The actor and current host of America’s Funniest Home Videos shared a video featuring a conversation between him and Tyra Banks. This video proves that the hosts already work well off of one another.
“I love Dancing With the Stars so much this season, I asked for a front row seat,” Ribeiro said. “I am so excited to be the new co host of Dancing With the Stars and I’m as excited as all of you to see this season’s contestants compete for the Mirrorball.”
Reports state that Banks and Ribeiro have a longstanding friendship going into this season. They’re both looking forward to bantering off of one another this season. It’s great to see Dancing With the Stars return to the two host format since the departure of Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron. Their History on Dancing With the Stars
Ribeiro is rejoining the ballroom after winning season 19 in 2014. During his time on the series, he and Witney Carson scored five perfect scores in the styles of Jazz, Trio Paso Doble, Jive, Freestyle, Cha-Cha-Cha and Argentine Tango Fusion.
Banks joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars in season 29 (2020), replacing Andrews and Bergeron. Since her debut on the series, her hosting has been met with harsh criticism. Banks is currently producing another series with Discovery+ at this time. The upcoming series, Generation Drag, follows five teenagers and their families are they prepare to perform at Dragutante, a drag show for young LGBTQ+ artists.
Dancing With the Stars migrates to Disney + this fall with an anticipated premiere date in September. Cast announcements will take place on Good Morning America on Thursday, September 8. Fans are excited to see which professional dancers return among alleged pay cuts.
