Dancing With The Stars Announces Renewal, First Celebrity of The Season
Nearly 4 months ahead of the 2025 season of Dancing With The Stars, the show has announced its first celebrity contestant. On Tuesday, the show announced Robert Irwin as the first dancer for Season 34. At the same time, the show announced its renewal.
For those who may not know, Robert Irwin is the son of legendary Australian zookeeper and conservationist, Steve Irwin. He is siblings with Dancing With The Stars Season 21 winner Bindi Irwin.
At the time of the announcement, the official Dancing With The Stars Instagram account shared a promotional video promising “more memorable moments to come this fall.” At the moment, the show has not share their exact premiere date.
Robert Irwin Recently Went Viral, Has Wanted to Join The Show For a While
The Australian wildlife photographer, actor, zookeeper, television presenter, and conservationist recently went viral online after posing for Australian underwear brand, Bond.
Within the viral photoshoot, Irwin is seen shirtless, posing with a snake around his neck. In honor of this viral photoshoot, Irwin walked into the DWTS event shirtless with a snake around his neck.
Irwin watched his sister bring home the Mirrorball in Season 21 and has since wanted to join the show. He would often admit in interviews that he’d like to follow in his sister’s footsteps in bringing home the Mirrorball trophy.
“I’m not as graceful as Bindi, let’s just say that. I’m not very graceful,” Irwin said to ET in 2019. “[But] I’d give it a go.”
He later admitted that he didn’t “think I’d be as good as Bindi. She was incredible.”
For those who may not remember, Bindi Irwin won the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 21 (2015). She won the trophy with partner Derek Hough.
