Youngsters are Quickly Taking Over This Season of ‘The Voice’
Reading Time: 2 minutes
It’s no secret that people love seeing young talent on some of our favorite shows. It’s always amazing when a young teen is able to take to the stage and absolutely rock it. This season of The Voice is quickly becoming the season of the young and talented.
You have to be 13 years old to compete on The Voice with parental permission, so it’s always interesting to see the acts that literally waited for the day to come. One contestant from episode three, Hailey Mia, quite literally could not wait until she turned 13. She told the coaches that her 13th birthday had just passed.
This singer performed “You Broke me First” by Tate McRae and absolutely stole the hearts of the coaches and audience. Even though it wasn’t until last minute, Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson both turned for this young act.
“I think you’re a phenomenal singer, and I could tell that you were young but I didn’t think this young and I think that with more singing on this show and being able to work together,” Grande said. “These moments are what’s just going to keep helping you grow and have even more control.”
Although Clarkson has won the show with a 14 year-old, Hailey decided to choose Team Ariana after the coach sweet talked her into choosing her team. At the end of the day, I think Hailey will flourish on Grande’s team this season.
This 15 Year-old Found her Home With Team Legend
Keilah Grace took to the stage singing “Never Tear us Apart” by INXS. She showed the coaches that she has an absolutely insane vocal range. Clarkson, John Legend, and Grande all turned their chairs for this amazing singer.
Her voice had a growl, and a great range. It didn’t surprise me in the slightest that three out of four coaches turned their chairs for her. They were shocked to hear that she was 15 years-old, but pretty much all commented on how she’s a ball of energy on stage. Even though all of the coaches tried to persuade her, she joined Team Legend, after pondering for a few minutes.
As soon as I heard her voice, I knew that she would be joining Team Legend. I’m sure some people thought she would choose Team Ariana since the pop singer began close to that age herself, but I couldn’t. The tone of her voice and the type of music she chose screamed John Legend to me.
In 2020, Carter Rubin won The Voice at 15 years-old. He was apart of Team Kelly, and could really be an inspiration for these young acts. Carter proved that you can win this show with grace at a young age, so I’m sure these two will follow in his footsteps.
