Alexis has been a dancer to watch throughout the revival of So You Think You Can Dance. On Tuesday night, it was revealed that she’s taking home the prize of $100,000 and the title of “America’s Favorite Dancer.” The dancer was near tears while accepting the prize. Even though the American viewers were unable to vote for the winner, they’re happy with the judges pick.
The 21 year old Utah native came into the competition to compete under the style of Latin Ballroom. Even though Latin Ballroom is her main style, she flawlessly performed each assigned style weekly.
Alexis began dancing at the age of six and has been trained in ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, gymnastics, and ballroom. Ahead of So You Think You Can Dance, she’s appeared on America’s Got Talent as the captain of Center Stage Dance Troupe, competed on World of Dance, and even joined Derek Hough on tour. Outside of competitions, Alexis has appeared on High School Musical The Musical The Series and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
The newest winner of So You Think You Can Dance is happily married to her partner, Jake Burton. They wed in November 2018 and are often seen in photos together on her social media. Alexis calls her husband her love and everything. Burton has been especially supportive of his wife throughout the competition. He’s always seen sharing videos of her from the official So You Think You Can Dance account.
Not only has Alexis accomplished a bunch in the world of dance, it’s clear that she has a bright future ahead of her. We cannot wait to see what’s next in line for this professional dancer.
