American Idol judge Katy Perry recently shared her interest in going on another world tour once her Las Vegas residency Play comes to an end. This would be the singer’s first tour since 2018.
Katy Perry Teases World Tour After Vegas Residency
“I have the songs to be able to put on a big show that people age eight to 80 can enjoy,” Perry recently told The Sun‘s Bizarre column. “Those songs have taken me everywhere around the world, and I’ve toured the world three times over. So I know I need to go back because the world constantly changes, and there are new fans every day.”
Perry previously explained that her Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theatre appealed to her because it allowed her to be there for her daughter, saying in an interview, “I really wanted to be able to strike more of a balance—to have a child and take her to preschool—but also be artistic and play with that energy.”
Perry’s last tour was in 2017 and 2018, promoting her album Witness. She kicked off her Vegas residency, titled Play, in December 2021. More shows were recently added, and now the residency has been extended through October.
Perry Is Returning to American Idol
It was recently confirmed that Perry will be returning to the judges’ table on American Idol Season 21. This will be her sixth year judging the show alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Auditions for the next season have already started.
The singer has also been engaged for three years to actor Orlando Bloom, although the wedding has yet to take place. The couple welcomed a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom on August 26, 2020. That means Daisy is almost 2 years old.
With her busy schedule, we’re not sure when Perry might go on tour again. But we’re looking forward to finding out more when the time comes.
