Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Masked Singer returned on Wednesday night for the Season 13 premiere, as the five members of Group A took the stage for their first performances. At the end of the night, Honey Pot was eliminated and unmasked as comedian Cedric the Entertainer.
Honey Pot Unmasked in The Masked Singer Premiere
During Wednesday’s premiere, Honey Pot teased that he’s “one of the founding fathers of modern day comedy,” before going on to sing “SexyBack” by Justin Timberlake for his first performance. The panel enjoyed his infectious personality.
Unfortunately, Honey Pot didn’t earn enough votes to move on in the competition, meaning he had to be unmasked. Final guesses from the panel about his identity included Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy. However, only Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy were correct in guessing that Honey Pot was Cedric the Entertainer.
Cedric pointed out a clue on his costume that the panel missed — the bees around his head were wearing his signature fedora. He also shared that he was most excited for his 8-year-old granddaughter Kylo to see him on the show.

Who Else Performed in Group A This Week?
The four other members of Group A delivered impressive performances on Wednesday’s premiere that earned them a spot in next week’s show. That includes Ant, who opened up about their personal struggles before performing “Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink.
The panel was also wowed by Coral, who delivered a haunting performance of “Mad World” by Tears for Fears after teasing that they were rejected for years when they were trying to break into the industry at a young age.
Another impressive performance from the premiere came from Paparazzo, who shared that they’ve never sung on a big stage before. You’d never know it from their voice, as they wowed the panel with a cover of “The Door” by Teddy Swims.
The premiere also featured a performance from Fuzzy Peas, who teased that they’re “third generation in my field.” They went on to deliver a lively rendition of “La Bamba” by Ritchie Valens that had the panel up and dancing.
