Snoop Dogg Defers Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction
Snoop was announced as one of this year’s inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame back in January. The Induction and Awards Dinner was held on Thursday night, but Snoop chose not to be included this year.
According to Billboard, the rapper intends to be inducted with next year’s class of artists, on June 13, 2024. He’s actually the second artist to back out of this year’s ceremony. The first was Sade Adu, who will be inducted with a future class.
The remaining inductees for 2023 were Glen Ballard, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne, Teddy Riley, and Liz Rose. Tim Rice was also honored with the Johnny Mercer Award, and Post Malone received the Hal David Starlight Award.
Artists qualify for induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame 20 years after their first commercial song release. Approximately 400 people have been inducted so far.

Snoop Celebrates 26th Wedding Anniversary
Earlier this week, Snoop took to Instagram to share a few posts celebrating his 26th wedding anniversary. He and his wife, Shante Broadus, tied the knot in 1997. The couple has three children and five grandchildren together.
Snoop shared a photo of the two of them together to celebrate the milestone, writing, “26 years and still rollin.” He also posted a video of him and his wife dancing together, and another clip in which he can be heard talking about their relationship.
The rapper describes “the turmoil and the stuff that I put her through” when he was becoming successful, without realizing he was “hurting her.” He added that he “became a man and realized that I need to love this woman who loves me and had my kids.”
