Britain’s Got Talent Series 18 returned over the weekend for another round of auditions. Once again, not one but two acts earned the Golden Buzzer — one from Amanda Holden, and another group Golden Buzzer from all four judges.
Young Guitarist Earns BGT Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden
During this week’s show, an 11-year-old guitarist named Olly Pearson took the stage to perform classic songs by Queen, Van Halen, and AC/DC. In addition to his incredible musical talent, Olly also had a great stage presence as he got the audience excited by his performance.
As he performed, judge Alesha Dixon commented that Olly was “so good, I wasn’t sure he’s doing it.” Olly ended his audition by standing in front of the judges’ desk as he played, finishing with a rock ‘n’ roll leap into the air. All four judges gave him a standing ovation.
“A star is born. I have never, ever seen anything like that in my life,” Holden told Olly after the performance. The audience could be heard chanting for the Golden Buzzer, and Holden answered the call, sending Olly straight to the live shows.
Olly got emotional as the gold confetti rained down, and he hugged his grandfather, who taught him to play the guitar. The remaining judges shared their thoughts, with Simon Cowell telling Olly that he has his “own distinct sound.”

LED Light Show Earns Group Golden Buzzer
Saturday’s new episode also featured a Golden Buzzer performance from a Swiss group called The Blackouts, who put on an impressive LED light show for the judges. The stage was darkened to show off the bright colors, as the performers drove a car and danced on stage.
Coincidentally, the performance was set to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen, which Olly Pearson played on the guitar in his own audition. The song appears to be a good luck charm, as The Blackouts also earned the Golden Buzzer for their performance.
The judges gave the group a standing ovation, with Simon Cowell actually cursing as he called the performance “brilliant.” The audience chanted for the Golden Buzzer, and all four judges agreed that the group deserved it, as they pressed it together.
