Britain’s Got Talent Series 18 returns this weekend for another round of auditions. Ahead of the episode, the show has shared an early release audition clip featuring 76-year-old singer Dave Sheriff, who performed an original song about the location of auditions.

Singer Performs Original Song in BGT Early Release

Dave Sheriff introduced himself to the BGT judges as a 76-year-old singer-songwriter and one-man band who has been making a living from music for 51 years. He shared that he would be performing an original song about Blackpool, where the show’s auditions were held.

Dave strummed the guitar and played the harmonica in between singing the song’s catchy lyrics about “Blackpool by the sea.” The audience cheered for the performance, while hosts Ant & Dec could be seen dancing along backstage.

The performance made everyone smile, and the judges and crowd eventually ended up singing along with Dave as he continued to perform. Amanda Holden loved it so much, she gave Dave a standing ovation when the song was over.

Alesha Dixon said she “absolutely loved” Dave’s performance, while guest judge KSI said he “made it look so enjoyable.” All four judges voted “yes” to sending Dave through to the next round of the competition.

BGT Shares More Audition Teasers

BGT has also shared a couple of other teasers for this weekend’s new episode. One clip features Olly Pearson, an 11-year-old electric guitar player who delivers an incredible rendition of “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. His performance has the audience and judges singing along.

In another clip shared by the show, a group called The Blackouts deliver an LED dance performance, coincidentally also set to “Don’t Stop Me Now.” Their routine, in which they ride in a light-up car, clearly impresses the judges.

BGT Series 18 will return for a new episode this Saturday on ITV1, ITVX, and STV. What do you think of this season so far? Let us know in the comments below.
