Former Danity Kane star Aubrey O’Day was recently unmasked as Ant on The Masked Singer. After her identity was revealed, she made a comment about her “ex-boss,” almost certainly referring to Sean “Diddy” Combs. The incarcerated rapper’s team has since responded.
Aubrey O’Day Called Out Diddy on The Masked Singer
Before she was revealed as Ant, O’Day alluded to a “villain” in her life who was “oppressive, vain, and cruel,” adding, “He told me in order to get ahead that I would have to obey. Be submissive, sweet, and above all, silent.”
After she was unmasked, O’Day told host Nick Cannon that it had “been a year,” probably referring to Diddy’s arrest in September and her choice to speak out about her negative experiences with him after Danity Kane was formed on his show Making the Band in 2005.
In 2022, O’Day spoke on the Call Her Daddy podcast about being fired from Danity Kane in 2008, saying it was due to her refusal to “do what was expected of me” by Diddy, unrelated to music. Diddy’s federal charges include racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
“My ex-boss … he calls himself Love. He legally titled himself that, and he uses the love heart to express that everywhere he goes,” O’Day said after her unmasking, referring to Diddy’s choice to change his middle name. “He’s in prison now. And I just want to say to you guys, the love heart is now here.”

Diddy’s Team Responded to the Comments
According to TMZ, a source close to Diddy responded to O’Day’s recent Masked Singer comments, telling the outlet that she shouldn’t “bite the hand that fed you,” and that her fame was thanks to Diddy casting her in Danity Kane.
The source also apparently argued that Diddy is “only detained” at this time, and he has not yet been convicted of the crimes of which he’s accused. His trial is reportedly set for May of this year. Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges following his arrest, and he has been denied bail.
After her unmasking, O’Day took to Instagram to thank The Masked Singer “for letting me fall in love with singing again.” She added that she hoped her story “resonated with everyone who watched, especially those of you who it’s meant for.”
O’Day wrote that she “won’t be stomped out,” finishing her post with the phrase, “Take that, Take that!”
