Rapper Tray Savage Dead At 26 In Shooting After Delivering Moving Tribute To George Floyd

Tray Savage, one of the members of Chief Keef’s rap label Glory Boyz Entertainment died Friday after he was shot at while driving in the Chatham neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. He was struck by bullets in the neck and the shoulder causing him to crash into three cars, leaving him dead. This is a devastating death that comes after the rapper recently posted a tribute for George Floyd on Instagram.
Tray Savage Was Shot Dead After Paying Tribute To George Floyd
Savage was reportedly dropping his girlfriend off somewhere before the shooting took place. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Canter where he was pronounced dead. The incident is currently being investigated by detectives and no suspects have been named in the case. Witnesses say they saw a suspicious white SUV driving around at the time of the incident. He is said to have lived in the Chatham neighborhood in which he was shot.
This comes after he posted an image of a busted up police car in Downtown Chicago during the protests for George Floyd. In the post, he said “#MrFloyd they treat us by color, not by name. I been living in Chicago my whole life it’s always been police brutality on African Americans I don’t condone this but they gotta hear us or feel somehow some way…..” Floyd’s death led to protests all over the world against police brutality and sparked the call for justice for the black community. He supported the Black Lives Matter movement and used his platform to vocalize that.

The Rapper Had An Up And Coming Career Ahead Of Him
At only 26, Tray Savage was only getting a taste of what it is like to find major success in the rap industry. In 2013, he had a major hit in a collaboration with Chief Keef on the song “Chiefin’ Keefin.” He also put out several solo albums and was establishing himself as a force in the music industry. His single “Trap” which was released in 2014 was described by the Hot New Hip Hop as “precisely the kind of hard-hitting street anthem that enthusiasts have come to love and expect from these Chicago emcees.”
