The Voice Season 28 Blind Auditions wrapped up on Tuesday night, which means it’s time to move on to the Battles. This round will feature four celebrity Battle Advisors, who will assist the coaches in preparing their artists to perform.
Who Are The Voice Season 28 Battle Advisors?
This season, Team Snoop Dogg will be advised by Lizzo, the Grammy-winning artist who is known for hit songs such as “Good as Hell” and “Truth Hurts.” The singer also hosted her own reality show called Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, in which women competed to be her dancers.
Season 28 will also feature the return of former coach Kelsea Ballerini, who will be advising Michael Bublé’s team. Ballerini is a Grammy-winning country star who previously coached on Season 27. Before that, she filled in for Kelly Clarkson in Season 20 and hosted spin-off show The Comeback Stage in Season 15.
Another returning coach in this season’s Battles is Nick Jonas, who previously coached the show in Seasons 18 and 20. This season, he’ll be advising artists on Reba McEntire’s team. Jonas is of course known for being part of The Jonas Brothers with his siblings Joe and Kevin.
And finally, on Niall Horan’s team, Lewis Capaldi will serve as a Battle Advisor. The Scottish singer-songwriter is known for songs such as “Someone You Loved.” He and Horan are friends, having co-starred in a 2022 road trip documentary.

This Season’s Battles Feature a New Twist
In case you don’t know, The Voice Battles usually see the show’s coaches pairing up artists on their teams to perform duets. The coaches will then choose one of those artists to continue in the competition. Some rejected artists can be saved by their coach or stolen by another coach.
This season, the show has introduced a new twist into this round. Instead of the coaches choosing which artists will go head-to-head in the Battles, the artists will choose their own partners. The coaches will still be choosing their songs.
We can’t wait to find out how this new shake-up changes things. Be sure to watch the first night of Season 28 Battles, premiering Monday, October 13, at 8/7c on NBC.
