In an exclusive clip of this week’s holiday episode, Abdul gets increasingly frustrated trying to guess the last word of a “Before and After” puzzle. Despite host Pat Sajak questioning her decision to guess without knowing the full phrase, the determined singer chooses to spin the wheel instead.
Abdul lets out a sudden, agonized scream after trailing off on her incorrect guess, leaving the audience stunned. Sajak quips that her answer was wrong as the camera zooms in on Abdul’s shocked face.
The singer icon was competing alongside comedian Lil Rel Howery and actor Matt Rogers to raise money for charity. Abdul played for WigsAndWishes.org, providing wigs and granting wishes for women and children battling cancer.

Pat Sajak Throws Shade at Paula Abdul’s Lack of Awards
Not only did Abdul embarrass herself on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, but host Sajak also threw some shade her way.
During Abdul’s introduction, Sajak highlighted her multiple Grammy and Emmy wins. Then he dropped a snarky comment about her lack of a Tony by bluntly asking “No Tonys?”
Visibly annoyed, Abdul retorted “Not yet!” and unleashed a signature leg kick, nearly whacking Sajak in the process.
Trying to backtrack on his harsh implication that the iconic Abdul hasn’t reached EGOT status, Sajak turned to the audience and praised her dance skills. However, viewers slammed what they perceived as mocking disrespect from Sajak toward the pop legend.
This isn’t the first time the host has been called out for taking insensitive digs at celebrity guests on the show. Just last episode he questioned guest Lauren Lapkus’ fame, doubting whether fans actually recognize her from anything.
Sajak’s tendency to throw snarky jabs, often in a patronizing tone, while amusing to some viewers, has rubbed many the wrong way. Despite starring together in an awkward viral moment, Abdul held her own and fans rallied behind her.
