Blake Shelton’s Biggest Bromances Ranked Through the Years
Reading Time: 4 minutes
The Voice coach Blake Shelton has had quite a few bromances over the years, both on the show and off the show. The star has plenty of friends in the world of country, but he’s also made some unlikely pals from other genres.
Most recently, Shelton has struck up a bond with Mega Mentor Snoop Dogg. This inspired us to take a look at some more of our favorite Shelton friendships. Can you guess which guy earned the honor of being Shelton’s biggest bromance?
Blake Shelton’s Best Bromances Ranked
7. Snoop Dogg
This bromance is pretty new, but we’re loving it already. Snoop served as a Mega Mentor on The Voice this season, and he got a chance to hang out with all the coaches — including Shelton. Despite coming from different genres, the pair seemed to get along swimmingly.
Shelton even opened the Knockouts by trying on the rapper’s jacket and testing out his moves in front of the mirror. As the country star wrote on Instagram, if you thought Snoop and Martha Stewart were “an odd pairing,” think again.
6. Nick Jonas
This is another newer bromance for Shelton. Jonas joined The Voice as a coach last year, and the pair has developed a friendly rivalry. This season, Jonas even jokingly dubbed Shelton a “bully” and prepared a game plan to fight back.
Jonas said he was working on his “psychological warfare.” Shelton has been known to use reverse psychology to get artists on his team. This season, Jonas got back at him by telling Shelton he should choose a particular artist in the Battles, and then stealing the other artist.

5. Carson Daly
Daly has been hosting The Voice since it started, and Shelton has been a coach in every season, so the pair definitely has some history together. Daly isn’t afraid to occasionally rib the country star during his hosting duties, and the two of them are friendly off screen.
In fact, Daly even served as a relationship coach between Shelton and his fiancée Gwen Stefani. The host told Today that he sat the couple down shortly after they got together and told them to “pump the brakes.” He even told Stefani that she was “much, much too good for this guy.”
4. John Legend
Shelton and Legend have been coaches together on The Voice for several seasons now. They’ve also both been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive — a title Shelton passed to Legend on the show in 2019.
The pair also hangs out off the set of the show. After Stefani won last season with artist Carter Rubin, Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen cooked an impromptu dinner for her and Shelton at their home. It wasn’t the first time Legend and Teigen have had the couple over to celebrate the end of a season.

3. Trace Adkins
Shelton and Adkins have performed together many times over the years. In 2009, they collaborated on a song called “Hillbilly Bone.” Ten years later, in 2019, they collaborated on another song called “Hell Right.”
“The guy’s got so much personality in his voice and the way he sings, and I still think he’s one of the most underrated vocalists out there,” Shelton said of Adkins in an interview with Taste of Country when the latter song was released.
2. Luke Bryan
These two country stars may be on competing talent shows (Bryan is a judge on American Idol), but that doesn’t mean they’re not friends — even if they do love to poke fun at each other. Earlier this year, Shelton called Bryan’s underwear commercial “disgusting.”
However, the pair has been known to enjoy dinner together, and Shelton even helped Bryan negotiate his deal on American Idol. He’s also said in the past that he loves Luke “like a brother.”
1. Adam Levine, Shelton’s Greatest Bromance
It’s you, it’s always been you.
How could we put anyone in first place besides Adam Levine? Shelton and Levine both joined The Voice in the first season, and they had 16 seasons together on the coaching panel. Fans grew to love their friendly banter during the series.
“Having a hard time wrapping my head around @adamlevine not being at @NBCTheVoice anymore,” Shelton tweeted when Levine announced his departure. “After 16 seasons that changed both of ours lives. I only found out about this yesterday and it hasn’t set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot.”
The two have remained friends despite their work separation, and Levine even hopes to perform at Shelton and Stefani’s wedding reportedly set for later this summer. Although maybe he’d be better suited to giving his bud away at the alter?
