Grandpa Snoop Dogg: What Everyone Needs in 2021
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Did you know that The Voice Mega Mentor Snoop Dogg is a grandfather? The rapper recently took to his Instagram page to share some adorable new videos of his young grandkids playing, and our hearts are melting from the cuteness.
Snoop and his wife, Shante Broadus, have welcomed six grandchildren — most recently this past March. The couple has three children together, and Snoop also has a son from another relationship.
Snoop Dogg Posts Videos of Grandkids on Instagram
On Monday, Snoop posted a video showing one of his grandsons. The little boy wears a Spider-Man shirt and holds a walkie-talkie. In the background of the clip, Snoop can be heard saying he needs back-up, adding, “Come on, Spidey, where you at?”
It’s not the first time Snoop has shown off his skills as a grandpa this week. Over the weekend, he shared a video of one of his granddaughters feeding her little sister with a bottle. All the while, she points at her new sibling saying, “Baby.”
Sadly, one of Snoop’s grandchildren is so longer with us. In 2019, his grandson Kai passed away at just 10 days old. Kai was the child of Snoop’s son Corde Broadus, who shared a tribute to his son on Instagram after his death.
“My son Kai brought so much love and positivity into this world,” he wrote. “His energy will live on and these 10 days of love will always be special to us. Let’s all cherish life and those we love while we are here. Thank you.”

Snoop is a Mega Mentor on ‘The Voice’ This Season
Clearly, Snoop is loving the grandpa life as his Insta feed is filled with photos of his beautiful family. Let’s see if he brings his grandfatherly wisdom and patience to The Voice contestants this season. Snoop is as a Mega Mentor this season. He’s joined all four coaches to help the artists polish their performances. This is the last chance the singers have to stay in the competition, so a lot is riding on the Knockouts.
Snoop may be the first rapper to serve as a Mega Mentor on the show, but this isn’t his first time on a talent show. Earlier this year, he was a judge on the TBS competition Go-Big Show. The series focused on extreme, frequently dangerous talents not usually seen on other shows. He was also a guest judge on the Netflix rap competition Rhythm + Flow.
You can see Snoop during the second night of Knockouts on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
