Anne Hathaway Identifies Kelly Clarkson’s Own Song Before She Does in Funny Game

Kelly Clarkson welcomed Anne Hathaway to her talk show this week, and the pair played a game called “Sing That Name That Tune.” In a hilarious moment, Hathaway beat Clarkson to the mic on one of Clarkson’s most iconic songs.
Anne Hathaway Beats Kelly Clarkson on Her Own Song
In the hilarious clip, Clarkson got frustrated with the game and asked the band to “play a freaking song I’ll know.” So they did exactly that, by playing part of “Since U Been Gone.” It’s one of Clarkson’s biggest hits, featured on her second studio album.
While Clarkson stood listening to the music, Hathaway calmly stepped forward and started to belt out the chorus of the song. Clarkson immediately fell to her knees and ended up lying face-down on the podium as Hathaway finished singing.
“How did you know it from just that?” Clarkson marveled after finally standing up.
“Kelly Clarkson, if you do not understand how much we all love that song…” Hathaway replied, insisting that everyone else there recognized it too.

Clarkson Gets Competitive on Her Talk Show
Clarkson takes her games very seriously, as we’ve seen before on her talk show. She’s even played against her fellow The Voice coaches a few times. One of the most memorable instances was when she identified Gwen Stefani’s song “Hollaback Girl” before Stefani’s husband Blake Shelton.
However, as we saw in the clip with Hathaway, she’s not always victorious. Last year, the coaches appeared on Jimmy’s Fallon’s show That’s My Jam, and Clarkson couldn’t complete the lyrics to Ariana Grande’s song “Break Free.” She was punished with a spray of water.
Hathaway may have beaten Clarkson at her own game, but during her interview on the show, she also taught the host a genius way to eat cupcakes (by turning them into sandwiches), so it all evens out.
