‘American Idol’ Early Release: Judges Think This Singer Will Make The Top 24

American Idol has officially released an audition for their upcoming episode, airing on Sunday, March 19. Fans are definitely in for another set of amazing auditions this week.
It’s no secret that American Idol season 21 has been filled with some extremely talented singers, and after this audition, it’s clear that PJAE is one of them. American Idol‘s early released video features the 23 year old singing “Mirror” by Madison Ryann Ward.
PJAE Stuns in Emotional, Heartfelt Performance
The Lawton, Oklahoma native is clearly showing off his beautiful tone throughout the song. During the song’s highs and lows, he continually hits each note flawlessly. As a viewer, I was insanely impressed by his voice and it’s clear the judges were too.
“I’ve been saying a lot of ‘nos’ this year to get to someone like you. We’ve been dealing with some singers coming in that weren’t really putting the emotional connection in there,” Luke Bryan said. “You just slayed all of that and even toward the end, we really saw how talented you are.”
I don’t think PJAE really knew how good he was, until the judges told him. It’s clear that he was feeling every emotion once the judges began complimenting him.
“I think it was the first time today that I have felt a wave of chills so naturally,” Katy Perry said. “It was so beautiful, so effortless, so angelic and emotional and sad and painful. I felt like you were telling that story and it was your story, so I’m really excited and in the future the heart strings you will be pulling in the audience.”
The judges actually thanked PJAE for giving such a good performance, since they had been unable to agree that day. Before Richie gave the first ‘yes’, he said that PJAE’s journey is now beginning. In the end, he earned three yeses and a golden ticket to Hollywood.
Who is PJAE?
Ahead of American Idol, PJAE was known online as a soul, jazz and pop artist with 4,653 monthly listeners on Spotify. His most current release, his debut single, is titled “be that someone.” As of writing, the song has 10,547 streams on the platform.
Outside of Idol, PJAE can be seen on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, sharing songs on the daily. He currently has over 1,000 followers on Instagram, 639 followers on TikTok, and 84 subscribers on YouTube.
I think Richie said it perfectly, this is truly the beginning of PJAE’s journey. It’s clear that he’s an extremely talented singer ahead of the competition, so I can’t wait to see how he performs in Hollywood Week.
