Dancing with the Stars pro Peta Murgatroyd and her husband, fellow dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, are most likely done having kids after welcoming three sons into their family over the years. Murgatroyd explained that she “would feel guilty” having another child.

Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy have three sons together — 8-year-old Shai, almost-2-year-old Rio, and 11-month-old Milan. Before welcoming Rio and Milan, the couple was open about their struggles with fertility and experience with IVF.

“I want to be able to give my all to my children and I feel like, right now, I’m struggling to do that with three,” Murgatroyd told Us Weekly. “I don’t know how to cut myself into three pieces and give it all to them like I did for Shai for six years.”

The dancer admitted, “I almost feel guilty that now I’ve got two younger ones and I need to split my time with everybody and they’re not getting what I gave Shai.” She also shared that having two babies so close together “was a lot — not just physically, but mentally.”

Murgatroyd explained that the adjustment to having two younger siblings was initially “really tough” on Shai, but added that “now it’s much easier.” She described life with three children as “utter chaos,” sharing that she and Chmerkovskiy try to “carve out time for each other.”

Will Murgatroyd Be Back on DWTS Next Season?

After giving birth to Milan in July of last year, Murgatroyd took Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars off. However, it’s not goodbye forever, as the dancer is interested in returning to the ballroom as a pro for Season 34, premiering this fall.

“Right now, I do feel like I have a bit of a weight lifted off my shoulders. I’ve gotten through that first, you know, newborn stage again. So I feel like I would be ready to go back,” Murgatroyd told Us Weekly. “I love the show. I love what it’s about. I love training people [and] teaching them how to dance. I love the performance aspect of it. So, yes, if they did come to me and want me back, I would say yes.”

The cast of professionals for Season 34 has yet to be revealed, although Robert Irwin and Alix Earle have been announced as the first two celebrity cast members for the new competition.
