Carrie Underwood Remembers Going to LA for American Idol
On Tuesday, Underwood posted several photos from her time performing at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on her Denim & Rhinestones Tour, along with fellow country star Jimmie Allen. In the caption, she reminisced about her first time in the city for American Idol.
“I took my first plane ride when I was 21 years old out to LA during auditions for #AmericanIdol,” Underwood wrote. “It was pretty much my first trip ANYWHERE and I was alone…but Los Angeles was magical to me, so somehow it didn’t seem as scary to this small town farm kid…”
Underwood would go on to win Season 4 of the show at age 22. Since then, she’s become one of the show’s most successful contestants, having released nine studio albums and won eight Grammy Awards.
“Flash forward 19 years and here we are playing to a monstrous, incredible crowd at the @cryptocomarena and, while I’m still a small town farm girl at heart, LA still holds a part of it, too!” Underwood wrote to finish her post.
