The disappointing response to Katy Perry’s most recent album 143 reportedly caused “tension” in her relationship with fiancé Orlando Bloom. Negative reviews of Perry’s current Lifetimes Tour have apparently added to the stress.
Katy Perry’s Album Flop Affected Orlando Bloom Relationship
Last September, Perry released her seventh studio album, titled 143. It featured tracks such as “Woman’s World,” “Lifetimes,” and “I’m His, He’s Mine.” The project was considered by many to be a flop, as it charted the lowest of any of her albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” a source told People of how Perry handled the negative response. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”
Another source shared that this tension has extended to the reception of Perry’s current Lifetimes Tour, explaining, “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It’s put stress on their relationship.”
Perry and Bloom have been engaged since February 2019. They share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, who was born in August 2020. The couple first started dating in 2016, splitting up briefly in 2017 before getting back together.

How Has Perry Responded to the Negativity?
In April, Perry took to social media to address the criticism she was receiving for her Lifetimes Tour, as well as her participation in an all-female trip to space on Jeff Bezos’ rocket. The singer called herself a “human piñata.”
“I can continue to remain true to myself, heart open and honest especially because of our bond,” Perry told her fans. “Please know I am OK, I have done a lot [of] work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me.”
Perry said she chose to send love to those criticizing her, explaining, “I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed.”
