America’s Got Talent Season 20 returned on Tuesday night for the third week of auditions. During the episode, judge Mel B pressed the Golden Buzzer for the second week in a row. She did the honors for an inspiring singer named Charity Lockhart.
Mel B Hits Second AGT Golden Buzzer for Charity Lockhart
Last week, Mel B hit the Golden Buzzer for the Messoudi Brothers. This week, she did the honors once again, this time for singer Charity Lockhart. Charity shared that she has two grown children, adding that the family lived in a car for a time when they were young.
Charity entered a singing competition and won enough money to get an apartment for her and her kids. She expressed her goal of winning a Grammy at some point in the future. For her audition, Charity began by performing an a cappella cover of “Over the Rainbow.”
Simon Cowell stopped Charity mid-performance and asked her to try another song. So she launched into a performance of “Golden Slumbers” by the Beatles, accompanied by the piano. She showed off an incredible voice, prompting the judges to give her a standing ovation.
Mel B was so impressed, she pressed the Golden Buzzer to send Charity straight to the live shows. After leaving the AGT stage, Charity ran to hug her kids.

What Other Acts Impressed the Judges?
Charity Lockhart wasn’t the only act to impress the AGT judges during Tuesday’s new episode of the show. Another memorable audition came from Leo High School Choir from Chicago. They performed “Born for This” by The Score, bringing incredible energy to the stage.
Mel B told the group that it felt like they were singing an original song “from the heart.” Simon Cowell gave the microphone to choir director LaDonna Hill, who shared that she’s “extremely proud” of the group. The choir earned four “yes” votes to move on.
The panel was also wowed by aerial duo Julia and Dmytro Turkeev, who made a literal splash with their audition. The audience was on the edge of their seat during the dangerous acrobatic routine. Sofia Vergara told them that “everything was perfect.” The couple received four “yes” votes.
Tuesday’s show also featured an audition from Boston Dynamics, whose dog-like robots danced to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Once of the robots actually went to sleep during the performance, but it woke up while the judges were giving their thoughts. The act earned four “yes” votes to move on.
Simon Cowell Gets Involved in a Silly Act
Tuesday’s episode also featured an audition from an act called Osaka Philharmonic. The judges seemed to be expecting something serious, but they were surprised when the group removed their shirts to reveal musical notes drawn on their chests.
One member of the group took a baton that had been sitting in a bucket of dry ice and touched it to the nipples of the other group members, who all had harmonicas in their mouths. When they reacted to the cold, they involuntarily played a note on the harmonica.
Mel B hit her red buzzer for the performance, but the other three judges were entertained. She said she would take back her buzzer if Simon Cowell got involved in the act. At first, Cowell refused to take his shirt off, but he ended up lifting it so his nipple could be touched.
The group actually received four “yes” votes from the judges. Cowell told them, “I want you to freeze my nipples again.” What will their next performance entail? We’ll have to wait and see.
