Kodi Lee‘s time on AGT warmed the entire nation’s heart. He has been lowkey since winning 1 million dollars and he won’t be a part of AGT: The champions but he did recently perform a duet with Glee alumna Lea Michele. We got you all the details.
The two performed the Oscar-winning song “Shallow” from A Star is Born, at the Autism Awareness Gala in Washington DC. After, the crowd cheered and gave them a standing ovation!
Michele’s reputation speaks for itself. Although she is best known for her time on Glee, Michele is a seasoned Broadway performer, featuring in such shows as Les Miserables, Ragtime and Spring Awakening. So, this performance was a match made in heaven!
As mentioned, Kodi just won America’s Got Talent’s fourteenth season, beating Detroit Youth Choir in the Final. Kodi, who is blind and autistic, wowed the judges and America alike with his incredible voice. Also, Kodi was the first person to receive a Golden Buzzer last season, after Gabrielle Union pressed it during the premiere.
Afterward, Kodi’s audition went VIRAL, earning thirty million views in two weeks! Kodi went onto to crush the rest of his performances throughout the season. He performed “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” by Simon and Garfunkle in the Quarterfinals, “You Are the Reason,” by Calum Scott in the Semifinals, and “Lost Without You,” by Freya Riddings in the Finals.
