Dancing With The Stars recently wrapped up season 31 and it was filled with unforgettable dances that stand out in every possible way. Some routines were memorable for the outstanding technique being displayed, while others were filled with emotion and passion. Either way, these are the top 10 best dances from DWTS season 31.


10. Gabby Windey, Val Chmerkovskiy’s Viennese Waltz

Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy danced an elegant Viennese Waltz on Elvis Night on DWTS. They performed the routine which was “soft like a whisper,” to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” by Elvis Presley.

9. Charli D’Amelio, Mark Ballas’ Cha-Cha Routine

The TikTok star Charli D’Amelio left a big impression at the premiere of DWTS season 31 together with Mark Ballas. They performed a cha-cha routine to “Savage,” by Megan Thee Stallion, earning them the highest points of the night.

8. Daniel Durant, Britt Stewart’s Jazz Routine

Coming a long way since the start of the season, Daniel Durant is arguably the most improved dancer in the ballroom. The CODA actor gave it his all while performing a Jazz routine to “Enjoy the Silence,” by Depeche Mode.


7. Shangela, Gleb Savchenko’s Jazz Routine

During Halloween Night, the drag star and her partner performed a routine that told a compelling story. Complete with the Halloween makeup they danced to “Look What You Made Me Do,” by Taylor Swift earning a perfect score from the judges.

6. Wayne Brady, Witney Carson’s Samba Routine

Wayne Brady remains as one of the most remarkable ballroom dancers in terms of consistency. His Samba routine to “It Takes Two,” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock remains one of his best.

5. D’Amelio, Ballas’ Contemporary Routine

A performance that had both emotion and technique, the breathtaking contemporary display earned an almost perfect score from the judges. The routine took place while “When the Party’s Over,” by Lewis Capaldi was playing. D’Amelio expressed her struggles with anxiety through the dance routine, giving it a special meaning to her.


4. Team Scream’s Freestyle Routine

Team challenges on DWTS Halloween night give an interesting new dance style on the Mirrorball competition. On this special occasion, Team Scream made a perfectly choreographed routine that left the viewers wanting more.

3. Brady, Carson’s Jive Routine

Even with an injured knee, Brady was able to perform at the top of his game. Derek Hough said that it was the best Jive routine he had seen the entire night. The couple hit every step and are perfectly in sync with each other.

2. Shangela, Savchenko’s Freestyle Routine

One of the most memorable performances in the entire show in our books. There’s no shortage of fun surprises in this routine such as Shangela referencing the fried chicken she gave to Goodman. One of the other highlights of the dance is Savchenko wearing a full drag queen getup as Natasha.

1. D’Amelio, Ballas’ Freestyle Routine

What better pick for number one than the dance routine that bagged D’Amelio her first Mirrorball trophy. Unlike most freestyles during the finale, the couple chose to do a more stripped-down version of the dance.
