Robert Irwin Wins DWTS Season 34 with Witney Carson
Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin has been a fan-favorite since the very first episode of DWTS Season 34, with his performances racking up millions of views online. So it’s no surprise that he and his partner Witney Carson won the Mirrorball trophy in the finale. Robert follows in the footsteps of his older sister Bindi Irwin, who won Season 21 of the show with partner Derek Hough.
During Tuesday’s finale, Robert and Witney were assigned a quickstep by judge Derek Hough in the judges’ choice round. They earned a 29 out of 30 for the dance, which was set to “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” by Jet. Later in the show, during the instant dance round, they earned a perfect 30 for their cha-cha to “Cake By the Ocean” by DNCE.
Their third dance was a freestyle to “Black and Gold” by Sam Sparro and “The Nights” by Avicii. Once again, the judges gave them a perfect score, bringing their total for the night to 89 out of 90. This was one point behind TikTok star Alix Earle and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, who had a perfect 90. However, the votes from viewers at home were enough to get Robert and Witney the Mirrorball.
