Jamie Lynn Spears made her Dancing with the Stars debut earlier this week, dancing the Tango with her partner Alan Bersten. She made it through to next week’s show, but not everyone is happy with her casting.
Fans Object to Jamie Lynn Spears on DWTS
Fans’ objection to Jamie Lynn’s casting stems from her feud with older sister Britney Spears over the pop star’s conservatorship. In 2021, Britney said her family “embarrassed me and hurt me deeply.” The next year, she called Jamie Lynn “scum” following the success of her memoir.
Britney fans have made their feeling about Jamie Lynn clear on social media. One Instagram commenter wrote, “Can I cast negative votes for Jamie???” Another suggested, “Can we please get a Britney week just to spite her?”
According to TMZ, one fan even said Jamie Lynn “looks like Ted Cruz with blonde hair,” and some are hoping Bersten drops her during one of their dances. One fan called Jamie Lynn a “snake.”
She isn’t the only contestant on the current season who has received backlash for her participation. Some fans expressed disappointment that football player Adrian Peterson had been cast following his past child abuse and domestic violence charges.

Does Britney Disapprove of Her Sister’s Casting?
According to a recent report, Britney is allegedly unhappy about her sister’s participation in this season of Dancing with the Stars, particularly since Britney is currently going through a divorce. According to a source, “She feels continuously disappointed by her family, and it definitely stings.”
Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn is reportedly “a little nervous” that her family drama will come up during her time on the show. Her mother Lynne Spears was in attendance in the ballroom for her debut on the show earlier this week.
Jamie Lynn’s Tango with Bersten earned a combined score of 15 from the judges. She was announced as being safe from elimination at the end of Tuesday’s premiere.
