Reporter Will Reeve Responds To Epic TV Fail Of Forgetting One Vital Thing While On-Air… His Pants!
Reading Time: 4 minutes
Working from home means that you can dress in comfy clothes and not worry about anyone judging you for your appearance. Some people even opt to wear pajamas all day. But for news anchors, appearance is still very important. Will Reeve did a video-call appearance for Good Morning America and people could not help but notice that he wasn’t wearing any pants.
Will Reeve Was Preparing For His Morning Quarantine Workout
At first, during Reeve’s segment, he appeared to be wearing pants. These pants were edited onto his legs through special effects. But for some reason towards the end of his segment, viewers could see his bare legs. The story he was reporting on was about drones carrying medication to people in Florida, but to be honest, was anyone really paying attention to the story? After the segment aired, Reeve took to Twitter to call the experience “mortifying.”
He later revealed that he was preparing to do a workout after his Good Morning America segment and therefore wore shorts. He did not think his legs would be shown during the broadcast and said this is a classic case of when “your self-framed live shot goes too wide).” Reeve then went on to explain himself and said “Trying to be efficient I got ready for a post-GMA workout a little too soon this morning. The camera angle, along with friends, family, and several hundred strangers on social media made me rethink my morning routine. Any sartorial tips from these people who are wearing a belt, trousers and shoes during their work video calls at home are most welcome. Now, back to work. Wearing pants.”

Twitter Lost Their Minds When They Saw Reeve Was Pantsless
Naturally, people on Twitter noticed that Reeve was not wearing pants rather quickly. “This quarantine is already affecting my vision, nobody sees something strange at the end? Or am I the only one who sees reporter Will Reeve without pants!” said one Twitter user. Well Alejandro, it sure does look like you have pretty good vision.
Another Twitter user wrote “While reporting, maybe wear pants? Or don’t.” She included #quarantinelife.
“We are all Will Reeve. Pants are a distant memory,” wrote another Twitter user. And he’s right. There is bound to be other people that are working from home without pants on or wearing their comfiest clothes possible. This is super relatable.
“Will Reeve is a fantastic journalist in his own right but I gotta say I never thought I’d see Superman’s son wearing hot pants on daytime tv,” said another. Reeve is the son of the late Christopher Reeve who played Superman in the 1978 movie. He was paralyzed after being thrown from a horse in 1995.
Other Talk Show Hosts And Journalists Have Been Dressing More Casually
Reeve isn’t the only one going for a more casual wardrobe while in quarantine. Though others aren’t necessarily broadcasting live in their underwear, they are definitely scaling back with their style. Trevor Noah literally wore a bright yellow hoodie in his latest episode of The Daily Social Distancing Show With Trevor Noah. We love that he is not wearing a suit or a fancy button-down shirt. Again, it’s highly relatable during this time because we are all literally wearing hoodies.
Jimmy Fallon even wore a casual striped sweater on an episode of his show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Nobody has stylists or a wardrobe department in quarantine so it makes sense as to why these leading men’s wardrobes may look a little different. It’s also just about comfortability and relatability.
