According to TMZ, Garcia and Chigvintsev went to mediation earlier this month and agreed on a divorce settlement. According to sources, the former couple wanted to settle things quickly to avoid further expenses and allow them to move on.
“Nikki and Artem have settled their divorce and will not be going to court,” a rep for Garcia said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly.
TMZ points out that Chigvintsev was seeking spousal support from Garcia. However, she reportedly requested in her divorce filing to block the court’s ability to award spousal support. It’s not clear yet what the settlement decided in this regard.
“Nikki’s number one priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter,” Garcia’s rep added, referring to the son she shares with Chigvintsev, 4-year-old Matteo. “She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received during this difficult time.”

The Restraining Orders Were Dropped
Last month, it was reported that Garcia and Chigvintsev had both been granted restraining orders against each other. However, those restraining orders have now been dropped with news of their divorce settlement.
“Both parties decided to drop the domestic violence restraining orders against each other in an effort to move on with their lives and effectively co-parent their son,” Garcia’s rep shared in their statement on the settlement.
Garcia and Chigvintsev met in 2017 while competing on Dancing with the Stars. They welcomed their son Matteo in 2020 and tied the knot in 2022. The couple had just celebrated their second wedding anniversary days before Chigvintsev’s arrest in August.
