One final dance crew is taking to the America’s Got Talent stage, during the final audition episode of Season 18. Here’s everything to know about the final dance crew, Chibi Unity.

Who is Chibi Unity?

Chibi Unity is a dance crew hailing from Niigata, Japan. This group is apart of a bigger company, named Dance Presentation Unity. The bigger company includes Chibi Unity’s Niigata and Hokkaido branches. Aside from dance, Dance Presentation Unity also creates movies. The agency was originally created to help “find out whether entertainment can help solve various industrial, educational, and social problems.”

If you’re a fan of dance, you may have noticed this group as familiar, probably because they were on World of Dance season 4 in 2020. At the time, Chibi Unity was comprised of 11 members, and were part of Japan’s Chronicle Dance Academia.

In current day, Chibi Unity has more than 22,100 followers on Instagram, 564 followers on Twitter/X, 3,040 followers on TikTok, and more than 5,230 subscribers on YouTube.

According to the group’s YouTube channel, they’ve also been apart of the NBC World of Dance movie competition, Street Dance of China season 4, and Nittele THE DANCE DAY. They won VIBE Jrs in 2017, 2019, and 2020, and placed in third in BodyRocks Jrs 2018.

How Was This Group Created?

Chibi Unity’s origin date is unknown at this time, since it wasn’t specified on their website. If basing their origin date purely on their YouTube channel, the group originally formed around 2008.

While the group was on World of Dance, it was reported that Chibi Unity was created from two dance teams, Ganmi and Chika. At the time, it was understood that Yuta Nakamura, and Sota Kawashima from the dance teams GANMI and CHIKA created CHIBI UNITY. The creators ahead of the merge had been performing together for two years.

In current day, Chibi Unity is apart of a bigger company titled Dance Presentation Unity. According to the company’s website, it’s said that through Chibi Unity’s shows, they are teaching all of Japan, as well as the whole world, the value of dance. The creators are “convinced” that the development of dance entertainment will aid in the development of Japanese industry and economy.

We’ve seen quite a few dance crews on this season of America’s Got Talent. Most notably, we’ve seen Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer group, Murmuration. Fans are eager to know if Chibi Unity will win the hearts of America during the final week of season 18 auditions.
