American Idol Top 5 Perform on Disney Night
For Disney Night, the Top 5 American Idol contestants (Abi Carter, Emmy Russell, Jack Blocker, Triston Harper, and Will Moseley) had some fun visiting Walt Disney World in Florida and being mentored by Kane Brown to perform songs featured in Disney films. Judge Katy Perry dressed up as Cinderella for the occasion.
During the show, the last remaining Platinum Ticket recipient Abi Carter delivered a soaring performance of “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid before taking on “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac, featured in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Lionel Richie told her she could sing any Disney song.
Also during Sunday’s show, Jack Blocker took on “Nobody’s Fool” from Cars 2, as well as an acoustic performance of “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, featured in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Luke Bryan told him he has “swagger.”
Meanwhile, Will Moseley brought his gritty style to a cover of “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” from Toy Story 4, as well as “Born to Be Wild” by Steppenwolf, featured in D3: The Mighty Ducks. After his second performance, Perry said it was the best he’s ever sounded.
