Kelly Clarkson Says She’s Not Looking for a Boyfriend: “I Love Being Single”

Kelly Clarkson has no boyfriend and she’s definitely not looking for one. The “Stronger” singer recently opened up to her fans, claiming that she’s loving every bit of her single life.
Kelly Clarkson is Enjoying Life as a Single Woman
In the wake of her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson admitted that she doesn’t see the need to have a new beau. The “Breakaway” singer, in a recent Instagram Live, opened up to her followers about her life after divorce.
“Do I have a boyfriend? No! And not looking. You know why? I love being single,” she said. “I have two kids, two dogs, three rabbits, a hamster, multiple jobs — there’s a lot going on. And, you know, you think you’re going to spend the rest of your life with somebody, and you don’t. That’s hard to start over.”
Since revealing her painful divorce to the public, Clarkson has been trying to move forward with life. With such devastating turn of events, the singer jokingly said years back that she would be “singer forever.”
Furthermore, during one episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the “Because of You” singer stated that she needed to ease off from dating, as she’s not good at spotting “red flags.”
“I’m always that person that’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t know. Maybe they were having an off day,'” she said.
Clarkson and Blackstock finalized their divorce in March 2022 after a rigorous custody battle over their children. Subsequently, the singer took the time to convert her pain into art, thus creating her latest album Chemistry. The said release chronicles her divorce journey, from ups to downs of previous marriage.
She Says Moving to New York City “Helped” Her Move On
Elsewhere in the Instagram Live, Clarkson also discussed how moving to the City that Never Sleeps aided her journey. The “Underneath the Tree” singer is now staying in New York City where her self-titled talk show is set to film.
“I love living here, and I’m a Texas girl, so I did not think I was gonna love it so much. But you will see this face all the time at the park. I love walking around,” she said.
Clarkson also noted that that her daughter River Rose and son Remington are loving New York so far. She went on and told her fans how Remy enjoys riding the subway.
“They love getting on the subway. My son doesn’t allow us to stand near him, so he looks like he’s by himself. He’s 7! I was like, ‘OK’ and he’s like, ‘No, I’m alone,'” she said.
It’s not the first time that Clarkson admitted the relief of changing locations. During her past interview with Today, the pop star stated that she “never really liked living in Las.”
“I think COVID pointed out a lot of things. A lot of us didn’t make it relationship-wise,” she said.
Apparently, the award-winning singer claimed she never really wanted to be in LA in the first place. However, she compelled herself to because it’s favorable for her work and marriage.
