Is Niall Horan the Next Kelly Clarkson on ‘The Voice’?

Numerous coaches have graced The Voice since its premiere season, but only a few have been remarkable during their debut. Among those are pop megastar Kelly Clarkson and Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan, who won the singing competition during his first and second seasons on the show.
Niall Horan, Kelly Clarkson Consecutively Won Their First Two Seasons on The Voice
In early 2023, former One Direction band member, Niall Horan, joined The Voice as a coach. He immediately won the competition with singer Gina Miles. This win shocked veteran judges of the season, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton. The very next season, Horan returned as a coach and scored another win with singer Huntley..
Two consecutive championships are no easy feat, and to pull it through during his first two seasons requires skills. Only two coaches have done this, and Horan shares that victory alongside Clarkson.
The “Stronger” singer first earned her place on the winners board in season 14 with Brynn Cartelli and in season 15 with Chevel Shepherd. Clarkson later earned her third and fourth wins with Jake Hoot in Season 17 and Girl Named Tom in Season 21.
Clarkson’s journey as coach on The Voice had undoubtedly been incredible from beginning to end. With her four wins out of nine seasons she’s been on the music competition, she’s arguably on the best coaches The Voice ever had.
Is He the Next Kelly Clarkson on the Show?
It may be easy to define Clarkson’s stint on The Voice by counting her wins, but her valuable contributions on the show aren’t locked to that. She’s inherently competitive, and she wasn’t shy to admit that. Everybody knows she went above and beyond in turning her artists from neophytes to worthy contestants on the show. Plus, her sibling rivalry against retired veteran coach Blake Shelton was always fun to watch.
Indeed, Horan is a force to be reckoned with on The Voice. He has proven that his experience and dedication can be the main ingredients to making a champion. Nonetheless, it’s fair to say that he still has more years to entertain and impress before he can level Clarkson’s success on the show.
For those who may have missed it, Niall Horan will be returning as a coach on The Voice Season 28 this fall. He will coach alongside Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg. There has not yet been a released premiere date for the upcoming season at the time of writing.
