Former World of Dance judge Jennifer Lopez, along with her production company Nuyorican Productions, has signed a multi-year first-look deal with Netflix. She’s reportedly already working on two projects.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal covers film and television, both scripted and unscripted. Lopez will work with partners Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina.
Jennifer Lopez Sings Deal with Netflix
“Elaine, Benny and I believe there is no better home for us than a forward leaning content creation company that seeks to defy conventional wisdom and directly market to the millions across the globe who no longer view art and entertainment with the kind of boundaries and limitations of the past,” Lopez said in a statement.
THR reports that Lopez is already working on an action movie called The Mother from director Niki Caro. The story of a female assassin is set to start filming in the fall, with Lopez starring. Another movie, called The Cipher, is based on a novel by Isabel Ojeda about an FBI agent and a serial killer.
Lopez also recently starred in and produced an action comedy called Shotgun Wedding with Josh Duhamel, as well as the romantic comedy Marry Me with Owen Wilson and Sarah Silverman. She previously produced and appeared in the 2019 film Hustlers.

What Else Has Lopez Been Up to Lately?
World of Dance, the NBC dance competition which Jennifer Lopez judged for four seasons, was recently canceled. Lopez was an executive producer on the series. Since then, the singer and actress has remained in the news for both her professional and personal life.
Lopez ended her engagement to former baseball player Alex Rodriguez earlier this year, and she appears to have rekindled her romance with ex-fiancé Ben Affleck. The news even inspired a social media reaction from Lopez’s ex-boyfriend Diddy.
Can we expect a sequel or reboot of the 2003 Affleck-Lopez film Gigli as part of this new Netflix deal? Only time will tell.
