Common Talks About Possibly Marrying Jennifer Hudson

Common has opened up about the possibility that he will marry his girlfriend Jennifer Hudson. The couple was first linked back in 2022, when they worked together on the film Breathe. Common is also featured on Hudson’s new holiday album.
Common Talks Marriage to Jennifer Hudson
Common was a guest on Hudson’s talk show last month. Hudson brought up a recent interview in which Common said that if he were to get married it would be to her. He reiterated, “If I should be married, it will be to Jennifer Kate Hudson.”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Common explained, “The marriage thing, we talked about it, and I said what I said… Look, if I’m gonna get married, it would be to her. That’s not changed.”
Common has never been married, although he shares a daughter with his ex-fiancée Kim Jones. The rapper and actor has had relationships with several high-profile women, including Erykah Badu, Tarji P. Henson, Serena Williams, and Tiffany Haddish.
Last month, Hudson released a new holiday album called The Gift of Love. Common is featured on the song “Almost Christmas.” He explained to ET that it “happened organically,” sharing that Hudson heard him freestyling one day and asked him to write something for the album.

The Couple Confirmed Their Relationship This Year
In January of this year, Common was a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show. During the interview, Hudson winkingly asked if he was dating anyone. He confirmed that he was in a relationship, calling his partner “one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life.”
Common added that his partner “had to have an EGOT” (which Hudson has), “win an Oscar on her first movie” (which Hudson did with Dreamgirls), and have her own talk show (which obviously applies to Hudson).
In turn, Hudson confirmed that she was also dating someone and was “very happy.” Although the couple had previously been spotted together, this was the first time they apparently confirmed that they were dating.
