Ariana Grande is clearing up rumors that a contestant on The Voice made her cry during a “disrespectful” altercation. Chavon Rodgers landed on Team Ariana during the Season 21 Blind Auditions. He was featured in a promo for the Battles up against David Vogel. His appearance in the promo sparked a slew of online rumors about an on-set incident.
Ariana Grande Debunks Rumors That Chavon Rodgers Made Her Cry on ‘The Voice’ Set
Chavon posted a clip of his audition on Instagram after the Blind Auditions came to a close. The clip shows the moment Chavon decided to be on Grande’s team. A comment now pinned to the top of the post says: “There’s a rumor that said u were disrespectful to Ariana, is that true??”
Grande’s fans took to the comments section to ask about the rumors and what exactly went down. One user alleged that an audience member saw Grande crying after an interaction with Chavon. The audience member wasn’t sure if the cameras were rolling at the time or if it was going to air. After the comments section became flooded with suspicions, Grande came to Chavon’s defense.
Chavon responded, “Love you coach” with two heart emojis. It’s clear that there is no bad blood between Grande, Chavon, or any members of Team Ariana. Grande has carried on her bliss being a coach on The Voice by posting a tweet about the Battles. She is “so excited” for everyone to watch the Battles where her team will be mentored by Kristin Chenoweth.
Chavon hails from the same town as Blake Shelton. He gifted Shelton a brick with their hometown, “Ada,” carved into it during the Blind Auditions. Shelton didn’t turn his chair. There is always a chance for Chavon to end up on Team Blake in the Battles or the Knockouts. But for right now, he is obviously a proud member of Team Ariana on The Voice.
