Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially confirmed their split following several reports that they had called off their engagement. The couple’s representatives issued a statement emphasizing that the couple is focused on co-parenting their daughter.
Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Confirm Their Split
Reports of Perry and Bloom’s split began to surface last month, although neither star confirmed the news at the time. The pair was together for nine years, on and off, and engaged for six. On Thursday, the former couple’s representatives issued a statement.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement reads, according to People.
The statement goes on to say that Perry and Bloom “will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
The couple shares a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, who will turn 5 years old this August. Bloom also has a son, 14-year-old Flynn, with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

When Did the Couple Break Up?
The statement from the couple’s representatives doesn’t specify exactly how long Perry and Bloom have been broken up. However, according to Us Weekly, the couple made the mutual decision to split as early as the beginning of this year.
Another report stated that following their split, the former couple is “still very much in touch,” and that things are “not messy” between them. They’ve apparently chosen not to make any “drastic changes” just yet, for the sake of their daughter.
Bloom was recently spotted out and about with Daisy in Australia, where Perry was performing on her Lifetimes tour. He then traveled to Italy to attend Jeff Bezos’ wedding solo.
