Triston Made It to the Top 5
When Triston auditioned for American Idol Season 22, he shared that he and his mother were homeless for a time when he was 12 years old, after escaping his abusive stepfather. He tried out with a performance of “Cover Me Up” by Jason Isbell.
All three of the show’s judges voted “yes” to sending Triston through to Hollywood Week. He ended up making it all the way to the Top 5, after performing songs such as “Sand in My Boots” by Morgan Wallen and an original song called “H.O.P.E.”
Triston was eliminated alongside Emmy Russell after performing “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog and “Life Is a Highway” from Cars on Disney Night. After his time on the show, Triston released his song “H.O.P.E.” as a single.
