Ariana Grande, John Legend Record New Song With Nile Rodgers

Ariana Grande and John Legend are reportedly collaborating on a new song together. Guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers revealed that he recently finished doing the song with them. Grande and Legend are also working together on The Voice Season 21 this year.
“I recently cut three songs with Will.i.am – the one that’s out right now with Jay Rae [‘Pull Up’] that’s doing quite well – I’m doing [American singer] Idina Menzel’s album and composing and all the rest of it,” Rogers said. “I just finished doing a song with Ariana Grande and John Legend. I’m working like crazy every day!”
Is Ariana Grande Releasing a New Album Featuring a John Legend Collaboration?
Fans originally thought Grande was going to release a Christmas album and land an accompanying NBC Christmas special this year. It was assumed that because The Voice is on NBC, she would become the new face of the network. Grande’s rep said in September that there are “no plans” for a Christmas album.
In a recent interview, Grande said she was taking a break from recording to focus on “new versions of storytelling.” Grande did announce her new makeup like r.e.m. beauty and has a role in the upcoming Netflix film Don’t Look Up. She is also working with an acting coach. Somehow she still had time to hit the studio with Legend, who just put out a seventh studio album of his own.
This would not be Grande and Legend’s first collaboration together. They covered the song “Beauty And The Beast” for Disney’s live-action film of the same name in 2017. On Twitter, many questioned whether or not she would be collaborating with all of The Voice coaches.
Grande is featured on Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming Christmas album on the track, “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me.” Last year, after the success of her Positions album, speculation grew that Grande’s seventh album was close behind.
“Positions was just for the fans, Expect a heavy commercial album for AG7 early 2021**,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Grande simply replied “no.” The fan’s tweet about Grande’s seventh album has since been deleted. No official album announcement has been made. Definitely be on the lookout for Grande and Legend’s song announcement during The Voice season. They could potentially perform the song on the show at some point.
