Before their audition, Conversion shared that they’re from Quebec. They said they would be dancing a tribute to their coach Vince and his wife, who struggled with fertility problems for many years before welcoming their baby.
The dancers, who all wore matching gray outfits, danced to the heartbeat of their coach’s baby in an emotional routine that had judge Trish Stratus tearing up. The performance ended with a dramatic moment in which the dancers stuck their arms through a large piece of black fabric.
The audition earned a standing ovation from the judges and audience. Judge Howie Mandel told them it was “by far the best act I have seen tonight.” Meanwhile, Stratus pointed out that with 36 members, they’re the biggest dance group CGT has had.

Stratus described Conversion as “36 bodies moving as one,” adding that they were “completely in sync” and calling the performance “such an intimate story.”
“When we started the show, I got asked, ‘What do you want to see on stage?’ And I said, ‘I want to feel it.’ I said, ‘I want my heart to skip a beat, and I want my heart to soar,'” Stratus recalled. “And you know what, guys? I was really, really feeling it. And I think they were feeling it.”
The audience cheered as Stratus hit the Golden Buzzer for the group, sending them straight to the Semifinals. Stratus joined the group on stage as confetti rained down, hugging several of the members in the celebratory moment.
