Robinson opened Wednesday’s show by playing the opening to “A Thousand Miles” on the piano. He then introduced Crews, who walked through the audience giving high fives and singing along to Carlton’s iconic 2002 song.
In case you don’t know the reference, Crews famously sang along to the track in a scene from the 2004 movie White Chicks. For this performance, Crews was also accompanied by a trio of violinists dressed in white. The judges (minus Simon Cowell) smiled and danced along as he performed.
After the performance, Crews chatted with Robinson, who joked about his supposed love for America’s Got Talent. As he explained to the host, “I’m a huge fan. I’ve seen every episode, except for the last two seasons.”
Robinson then helped Crews introduce the results show, during which Lavender Darcangelo and Adrian Stoica & Hurricane were sent through to the finale.

Fans Loved Crews’ Opening Performance
Fans online shared their love for Crews’ performance with Robinson on Wednesday’s show. One YouTube commenter called it “the duet we never expected but needed.” Another wrote that Crews’ famous White Chicks scene “will forever be EPIC.” Someone else said the performance deserved a Golden Buzzer.
This actually isn’t the first time this season that we’ve heard “A Thousand Miles.” During the auditions, an act called M (which featured two people dressed as Michael Myers from Halloween) performed the song. Crews sang and danced along from backstage.
