Team Niall Artists Battle in The Voice Early Release

This season on The Voice, artists are able to choose their own Battle partners, performing songs chosen by their coach. Aiden Ross, 20, and Ava Nat, 18, decided to pair up. Their coach, Niall Horan, assigned them a song he was featured on by Julia Michaels, called “What a Time.”

Both singers showed off emotional performances, displaying their incredible vocal talent. At the end of the Battle, they shared a hug. Coach Reba McEntire remarked that they “make a great duet,” adding, “Your voices blend so well together. If it doesn’t work out individually, you might think about that.”

McEntire complimented the song choice. Snoop Dogg chimed in to point out that it was one of Horan’s own songs, calling it “beautiful.” He joked that Horan was “cheating” by “giving them songs like that.”

What Else Did the Coaches Have to Say?

After the performance, Michael Bublé told Aiden that he has “such a beautiful voice,” complimenting his falsetto. He told Ava that she has “such a sweetness and a richness in your tone.” He admitted it was a tough choice but ultimately chose Aiden as his favorite.

“I’m witnessing teenage love,” Snoop Dogg said as he saw the two young singers hold hands on stage. “This is beautiful, man. I kind of want to shed a tear behind this record.”

Snoop pointed out that he turned his chair for both Aiden and Ava in their Blind Auditions, hinting that he might steal one of them. Ultimately, the decision for who will stay on Team Niall lies with Horan himself.

Horan called the Battle “just beautiful,” adding that the artists “sounded so good together.” We’ll have to wait until Monday’s episode airs on NBC to find out who he chose as the winner.
