Have you ever wondered what happened to the young singer who broke out crying on the Britain’s Got Talent stage? Here’s where she is now in 2025.
Hollie Steel’s History on BGT
This singer first took the Britain’s Got Talentstage in the craziest way. She took the stage in a pink tutu, with a dance segment. Simon Cowell’s hand was ready to hit the Red Buzzer, until Hollie began singing “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady.
Hollie quickly became a fan favorite on her season. In the semifinals, the pressure of the live show was too much for her. In the middle of singing “Edelweiss” Hollie froze and began to cry. Noticing something was wrong with the contestant, Cowell promised to find time for Hollie’s second performance.
In no surprise, Hollie advanced to the final, where she sang “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from Phantom of the Opera. She ultimately finished the show out in sixth place.
What Happened to Hollie Steel from Britain’s Got Talent?
Hollie Steel had quite the run on BGT, so it’s no surprise she was booked and busy after the show. She toured across the UK and Ireland, performed solos and duets and even released music of her own.
Hollie, after leaving her previous label, set up BB5 Records Limited. Independently, she released multiple singles, which included “Edelweiss” and “I Could Have Danced All Night.”
In 2011, Hollie made her on stage debut as Louisa Von Trapp in the UK tour of The Sound of Music. Her time performing did not stop there. Hollie then joined Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas as Frenchy in Grease until 2022.
Now, at 27, Hollie has accomplished so much on a professional level. On a personal level, she got engaged in December 2024 to her longtime boyfriend. Fans are rooting Hollie on from far and wide, nearly 16 years after her time on BGT.
