‘So You Think You Can Dance’ is Back! Here’s How to Audition

It’s official, So You Think You Can Dance is returning to FOX this year. The series is returning to the network for it’s highly anticipated season 17. In 2020, the network pulled the competition series off air due to Covid-19 concerns.
After a long delay, So You Think You Can Dance shared a casting call for it’s upcoming season. Anyone who thinks they can be America’s Favorite Dancer is urged to submit and audition clip. To audition for the series, dancers must provide proof of United States citizenship or be eligible to participate in a United States based series, be between the ages of 18 and 30, and be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
Within the sign up, dancers are asked to select the style of dance they wish to audition in. Dancers are able to choose to audition with a partner. To complete the application, dancers must include a link to one recent solo dance in the style they chose. Videos linked should be no longer than 90 seconds and it should not be a show reel or multiple clips. At this time they are only accepting YouTube and Vimeo links.
What Happened On The Last Season of So You Think You Can Dance?
Season 17 of So You Think You Can Dance was originally planned to air in June 2020, but was ultimately pulled. The network released a statement that summer acknowledging that they were cancelling production on the season. FOX shared that the show wouldn’t have met the standards set for the viewers and contestants.
The last winner of So You Think You Can Dance was Bailey Munoz in 2019. Since winning the series he has joined the cast of iLuminate in Las Vegas, Nevada at The STRAT. In his past he’s worked with artists such as Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Gwen Stefani, and Will Smith.
So You Think You Can Dance is a Emmy award winning dance competition where contestants compete in various dance styles. Dancers are hoping to become America’s Best Dancer by the end of the season.
