Piers Morgan is continuing to defend his friend Sharon Osbourne after it was announced that she would be leaving The Talk. The entire controversy started after Sharon defended Piers’s comments about Meghan Markle.
Piers Morgan Defends Sharon Osbourne After Talk Show Exit
Piers walked off the set of Good Morning Britain on March 9. His co-hosts criticized his standpoint that Meghan lied about being depressed and suicidal during her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Sharon defended Piers in a tweet. She was asked about these comments by co-host Sheryl Underwood on The Talk. Sharon said that she felt like she was in “the electric chair” for being friends with Piers who Sheryl deemed “racist.”
After getting into a heated debate on television, Sharon apologized on social media for the way she reacted. This opened up an entire investigation into Sharon’s history on The Talk. Filming of the show was temporarily suspended. Sharon was also accused by former co-hosts and sources of making racial and innapropriate remarks on set. She told The Daily Mail that the allegations against her are “crap, all crap.”
It was announced this week that after CBS conducted an investigation, Sharon is leaving The Talk. She said in an interview that she feels “totally blindsided” by the events that transpired on the show.

Once Piers got wind of Sharon being booted from The Talk, he took to Twitter to condemn CBS. He said that Sharon was “bullied out of her job.” Piers wrote two pieces for The Daily Mail to tell his side of the story and further defend Sharon. The pair have been pretty close since serving as judges on ‘AGT.’
Piers Wrote Columns To Tell His Side Of The Story And Defend Sharon
“Sharon Osbourne’s quit The Talk, driven out for the crime of defending me, a friend she knows isn’t racist, from a co-worker saying I’m racist simply because I disbelieve Meghan Markle” Piers wrote in one article.
“I’m not a racist and neither is Sharon Osbourne but that didn’t stop the woke mob lynching her just for defending me in a shocking episode that shames the Cowardly Broadcasting System and should horrify anyone who values free speech,” the headline of the other article he wrote says. Piers posted a selfie with the caption “to my haters: peace out” after writing the articles.
“The fact we’ve both lost our jobs is not just an appalling attack on free speech, but it’s also a terrible indictment of woke cancel culture bulls— and the stinking hypocrisy that lies at the heart of it” he said about cancel culture.

“I’ve never said a single thing about Meghan Markle that could possibly be construed as racist, either in print or on television,” he wrote. “In fact, the only time I’ve ever mentioned her race has been to repeatedly say how great it was that a bi-racial woman was marrying into the very white British royal family.”
